I’m sitting here with the fall sun in my eyes, the smell of BBQ drifting by, my partner finishing work inside.
I just came back from walking my friend’s dog after a morning planting five varieties of garlic and digging up the last of the carrots.
Right now, I’m feeling that rare, fickle sense of euphoric contentment. I tuned in and heard the call to open my journal and write this note to you.
——
For the last five years, I’ve been The Holistic Time Coach. I helped folks find ways to waste less time, feel less anxious about it, and spend their days how they truly wanted.
But it became clear that the time I was talking about (a more spacious, humane, cyclical time) wasn’t the same time most people knew. Most of us are still living inside clock time, capitalist time, productivity time.
My gut told me I couldn’t keep fitting liberation into a marketable “time management” box built for so-called success. With the support I needed, I dismantled the business I’d built while not knowing exactly what’s next.
I do have some inklings about what’s next, which I want to share with you now.
Lately all I can think about is how simple our needs and desires are as humans:
A roof over our heads, delicious food that nourishes, laughter, work that feels meaningful and pays our bills, regular hugs, spacious days, connection to nature, art to create, art to enjoy, the ability to be of service and make a positive impact.
Life is so preciously short. We just want to live well.
I hear this next statement from so many:
“It sounds so goddamn simple. Why does it feel so unattainable? Why is it so hard to be a human in this world?”
I can come up with many theories, but it all returns to pressure: the constant demand to do more, be more, survive the machinery of white-supremacist capitalist patriarchy.
This heaviness lives in our calendars, thoughts, inboxes, days, breath, imagination, and relationships.
As I acknowledge the lack of pressure I’m feeling right now, I immediately feel two things: How lucky am I? mixed with a pang of guilt over how many of us around the globe are far from that same feeling.
The horrors of our world seem to be getting louder, and heavier. More gruesome and cruel.
It feels like we’re all frogs in a pot of water coming to a boil.
How do we move forward?
How can we truly look at all that is going on without living in a state of helplessness and hopelessness. Overwhelm. Isolation?
How do we hold the state of the burning world and tend to our projects, our joy, our lives without feeling indulgent?
How can we make our own lives and each other’s lives feel lighter? More doable? Easier to exist within? Resourced?
I’m not alone in asking these questions.
Now, I want to use my unique skills, strengths, and lived experiences to think, feel, and meander through these questions with you.
My current offerings (aka experiments in service of collective thriving, rooted in the movements, teachers, and communities who practiced liberation long before I arrived)
Transforming from the inside out. Repatterning the thoughts, habits, and beliefs that shape how we move through the world (Hypnosis)
Bringing ideas to life without reproducing grind culture, urgency, or the hierarchies that harm us. (Project Management)
Finding steadiness, meaning, and belonging in a world that profits from our disconnection. (Spiritual guidance)
Crafting businesses rooted in care, sustainability, and alignment so you can make a living your own way. (Business mentoring)
Traveling or living abroad in ways that honors capacity, lineage, and interconnectedness. (Travel & migration support)
Learning to follow through gently and move at the pace of your body and seasons instead of the clock. (Holistic Time Coaching)
Naming the systems that shape us and experimenting with gentler, freer ways to exist together. (Anticapitalist life coaching).
For transparency, I charge $165 USD per 60-min call for all of these offerings.
Yes, the world is a heavy place. Being human is fucking hard. We can’t fix it all, overnight. But we don’t have to do this alone. We can lean on each other and widen our radius of care.
We can choose not to buy into the hype that individualistic self-care is the answer. Or that we are problems to be fixed via more pressure, stress, hardness, and cruelty.
We can let go of binaries that life is either suffering or thriving, broken or healed, despairing or grateful.
We can name and reimagine a world beyond this pressure. We can reclaim and acknowledge pleasure, ease, and connection are forms of resistance
So… lets make our lives feel lighter, easier, and more doable now. Shall we?
Another way (and world) is possible.
More details to come. In the meantime, want to hang and get to know each other as humans trying to live differently in this world?
These 30-minute hangs are an act of genuine connection in a world that moves too fast. Come as you are…curious, uncertain, inspired, nervous, or simply go for a walk or drink tea together.
xoxo,
Becca
