Follow Through Gently

TLDR: 5-week live group program for humans who want to follow through without feeling overwhelmed, freezing, or abandoning themselves. Sep 10 — Oct 8, 2026. $250 with payment plans available.

I finished more paintings, wrote more, joined a book club — and did all of it from a place of easygoing joy instead of panicked juggling.

As a nonlinear, creative, sensitive human…

You’ve probably been wondering why it’s so difficult to do the things you want, or need, to do.

Maybe you’ve been trying to figure it out for years.

You’re not alone. This is the cycle most of us find ourselves in:

1. You’ve got a lot of things you want and need to do. You genuinely intend to do them.

2. Something gets in the way. You’re tired, a kiddo get sick, work that pays the bills, or you simply don’t feel like doing it.

3. You don’t do the thing. Weeks, months, or years go by…

4. Then comes the mean inner voice. What is wrong with you. Why can’t you just do it.

5. You start to believe you’re bad at following through, You feel like you’re incapable of ever doing the things you want.

This is what I call the follow through harshly cycle.

We try everything to get ahead and out of it: Continue to beat ourselves up. Hit the reset button every new moon. Try every productivity hack out there — body doubling, timers, time blocking. Get a new planner.

But the truth is, if any of this worked… it would’ve have worked already.

Discipline (aka criticizing, forcing, and abandoning ourselves), punishment, surveillance, and fake urgency is not & has never been effective.

That’s just what the systems we live in — capitalism, white supremacy, patriarchy, ableism — have taught to use.

Some of the most grounded, specific inner work I’ve ever done.

I was deep in hustle culture, pushing way too hard for the health of my mind, body, and spirit — and I didn’t fully see it until now.
— Carrie

Discipline isn’t the answer.

Here’s the quick science:

Research shows shame and pressure don't motivate us, they shut us down. The brain reads shame as a threat, pulling focus away from the task and into freeze, flight, or fight mode. Science also tells us shame kills our desire to try again after we ‘mess’ up. So we don't just freeze, over time we stop believing we can.

On the flip side, studies show that when we are aware of our potential, approach ourselves with understanding and encouragement, and create a sense of internal safety, we light up the brain's reward centers. Our motivation, focus, and follow through directly improves (dare I say, sky rockets).

Integrating this motivational science in your mind & body (not just intellectually knowing it)…

…is what makes following through on all the things you want or need to do easy.

Follow Through Gently

Follow Through Gently is a science-backed approach to doing for humans.

It is built on the premise that you are not a machine to be optimized, or a failure that needs surveillance and punishment to do the things you want and need. You are a whole being to be supported.

By the end of this program, you will:

  • Finally understand why you've struggled to follow through for so long and where it actually comes from (it’s not you).

  • Have integrated a follow through framework that applies to everything you would ever want or need to do — self-care, work, creativity, relationships, business, activism, routines & habits, etc. No shame, hacks, or pushing past your limits needed.

  • Learn how to use planners, schedules, accountability buddies, or any other productivity tool without feeling trapped.

  • Unpack the productivity myths you've been handed and finally stop believing them in your brain and body.

  • Fundamentally heal your harsh internal voice and change how you relate to yourself as a do-er in the world.

How these five weeks will unfold

Each week we meet live as a group where we go deep on one piece of the follow-through gently framework. This will help you better understand yourself and learn how to take action effectively + gently + safely.

Week 1 — Seeing The Old Cycle You're not lazy, broken, or need discipline. We start with acknowledging the follow through harshly cycle, deeply understand why it doesn’t work, and learn tools to stop the mean voice in your head.

Week 2 — The New (Gentle) Way Awareness, consent, and safety is the way forward. This week we will talk about what actually motivates humans and allows us to follow-through.

Week 3 — Friction Tending There’s a lot of stuff that can get in the way of doing the things you want and need. This is where we’ll get into exactly what to do when you get tired, don’t feel motivated, life happens, and more.

Week 4 — Becoming a Person Who Follows Through This week is about creating a permanent shift in how you relate to yourself as a do-er. You learn how to trust and see yourself as someone who follows through. And worthy no matter how much you get done.

Week 5 — Gentle Tools This is where we take everything you've been learning and bring it into the tools and systems of your life: your calendar, to-do lists, your routines and habits. You’ll learn how to approach tools so they no longer feel rigid, controlling, and constricting.

The program includes

Weekly Live Calls Each live 90-min call will include conceptual teaching, embodied practices, and live coaching/Q&A.

Recordings All calls are recorded if you can't be there live because life happens, and that's more than okay here.

Weekly hypnosis audio One per week to support what we covered in session to heal the follow through wound in the unconscious, nervous system level.

Workbook Editable Google Doc workbook to further support in reflection and integration. Will include case studies, research, and additional resources (if you like that kinda stuff).

Signal group chat A space to post when you're up against friction, share resources, and to celebrate moments of follow through.

Validation buddies A relationship with another human going through the same thing as you and here to encourage and be there for you.

This course is quite profound. It helped me deeply examine my relationship with productivity- and my attitude towards myself.

Becca embodies and teaches a way of being that is compassionate, human, and wise. With that positive regard for ourselves, we actually get more done — but in a more easeful, even enjoyable way.
— Ciara
I’m beginning to talk to and negotiate with myself a bit more. When I feel resistance to the many tasks on my plate, I feel like I’m able to find a middle ground between “do nothing because I’m uncomfortable and feel the day is already ruined” and “force myself through hours of awful.”

A work in progress, absolutely. And life is still challenging. But even that ability to pause and ask myself what else I can do or how else I could do it has made the day-to-day a little better. And that was truly what I needed from this program.
— Trisha
Thank you for sharing Follow Through Gently with the world. Turns out I’ve been looking at it all wrong. No wonder my efforts in these areas have felt so forced!

One lightbulb after another, I now apply FTG to places and tasks in my life that have felt utterly stagnant and downright treacherous for years. Things that have made me feel avoidant, shameful, unworthy, guilty, idle, deserving of punishment/bad outcomes, and less than.

PSS Also had one of those moments where I stop and think how WILD it is that we don’t get a playbook on things like this. Majority of us have never seen this modeled, even as ADULTS. Our parents couldn’t even teach us because they suffer from the same sicknesses!!!!!!! We’re out here just punishing ourselves, trudging through narratives that our patriarchal, racist, capitalist society shoves down our throats. Same shit, different way, once again! Not with my one precious life!!!!!

Who this program is for

This 5-week live group program for humans who want to stop knuckling their way through life and learn how to follow through in a healthy and genuinely more effective way. Even if you’re neurodivergent, chronically ill, have 3 jobs, or have a never-ending a to-do list.

This group could be a great fit if you:

  • set intentions and struggle to regularly follow through on them (for any reason and any task).

  • you feel like you’ve tried everything out there

  • are tired of trying to force and guilt yourself into doing things

  • want to believe self-compassion and being productive & effective can coexist

  • are neurodivergent, chronically ill, or have fluctuating capacity

  • want a practical framework and deep integration, not only surface philosophy or a pep talk

  • thrive in community and love learning alongside other values-aligned humans

It's probably not for you if you:

  • want someone to push you harder and meaner

  • are looking for a strict accountability boot camp

  • aren’t open to the internal mental, emotional, or systemic analysis pieces of why we do or don't follow through

I signed more clients, got engaged, volunteered for the election campaign, worked through my customer service workflow in Dubsado, and found a way to schedule & DO the tasks that were really important to me.

Who I am

Hi, I'm Becca Rich (she/her). By formal education, I'm an engineer and project manager. I’m also virgo sun, manifesting generator, and highly sensitive human. I’ve been self-employed since 2020. I run an anticapitalist project management & operations collective. I’m also a professional holistic coach and hypnotist. And love to write and teach about time liberation.

Over the last decade, I’ve created and taught Follow Through Gently to thousands. This work is trauma-aware, neurodivergence-affirming, anticapitalist, and draws on neuroscience, parts work, somatic and energy-based approaches, and hypnosis.

Just like me, my people are creatives, deep feelers, unconventional thinkers. We don't believe in productivity for its own sake. We’re healing our tendency to measure our worth by our productivity. We believe in being able to do what we need and want to do for the deep satisfaction of moving toward what we actually care about and living life on our own terms.
